Behavior Support

One of the biggest obstacles our students and families often face are challenging behaviors that prevent access to meaningful educational opportunities and interactions within the community. The families we serve have entrusted Beacon to improve quality of life for their children, and we do so by building a strong foundation from which students gain valuable life skills and appropriate replacement behaviors.

Our commitment to enriching the lives of the students and families we serve drives every decision and recommendation our behavior team makes as they work in conjunction with parents and caregivers, teachers, behavior interventionists, therapists, and administrators to identify causes of challenging behaviors so antecedents and triggers may be addressed and coping skills and strategies taught and implemented.

Beacon’s collaborative approach towards education and behavior intervention cultivates an important partnership between parents, caregivers, and staff; every member of each individual student’s team is a vital part of the overall process, providing invaluable insight into the unique strengths and challenges of the student so appropriate supports and accommodations can be put in place and consistent, meaningful progress made.

Everything we do at Beacon is motivated by our dedication to empowering our students and preparing them for a more independent future. By using a progressive, naturalistic approach towards ABA in conjunction with individualized, evidence-based positive behavior intervention supports, we provide a compassionate school environment that is safe, effective, and promotes tangible results that translate into more opportunities for students and their families to safely access and successfully navigate the world around them.
